The HRC meets quarterly with the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva and discusses issues with 92 other member states. Sheikh Turki feels these dialogues are essential to both sides of the equation: much of what has been perceived as critical of Saudi Arabia is now being explained. On the other hand, much can be learned from other cultures through the exchange of ideas. “We will benefit others with our culture and we will also benefit from other cultures as well, because there are so many good things that we can embrace whilst maintaining our principles and traditions.”
