The number of educated women has grown rapidly in the Saudi Arabia. The social progress of Saudi Arabian women can be attributed to the general increase in female educational levels as the average enrollment in all education levels has increased 8% per annum from 1975 to date. Saudi women participated in the Third National Dialogue Forum which focused on women issues, rights, and responsibilities, which yielded several related recommendations. Women empowerment was highlighted as a major goal of the Eighth National Development Plan (2005-2009) and there was a subsequent increase in female employment between1990 and 2010 from 5 % to 19%.
