After his next position heading up Coast Investment & Development Co., Mr. Al Sager turned to journalism, joining Al Qabas as Editor-in-Chief. For 16 years, during which time Kuwait went through some of the most tumultuous years in its history, he continued to produce the daily newspaper before becoming a member of the Kuwait National Assembly in 1999. But after a decade of public service, in 2009, Mr. Al Sager joined several other Kuwaiti MPs in declining to run for re-election, believing the next parliament would fail to implement needed economic reforms and infrastructure investment.”
