“Mrs. Al Sabah’s passion for vintage clothes takes her up and down the length of the Silk Road—everywhere from Saudi Arabia to Turkey to Uzbekistan--to find and buy them. Interest in vintage fashion is increasing in the younger generation, which is beginning to collect and keep vintage couture and designer pieces to wear. She is proud of her large collection--including a number of pieces dating back to the 18th century--which she dreams of displaying in a museum one day. For now, her more than 100 vintage costumes collected over a period of 13 years are stored in a dedicated room in her home.”
