
“The Iraqi invasion, globalization, and the advancement of women’s rights have all had an impact, but her career began back in 1987 in a most traditional fashion--despite the fact she was almost always the only female person in the room. Starting out in her uncle’s law office, there were no other partners or junior lawyers, so she was able to learn all aspects of running a small firm. Her uncle, the late Nabil Ahmad Al Naqeeb, did everything himself, and he sought to train his niece in the full range of legal services as well as the running of a firm.”
