Mr. Kamel’s rise through the group over more than 20 years is a source of pride to him now that the group is prospering under his leadership.With his restructuring finished he is very confident of success. In the face of global economic downturn, he has guided Dallah Albaraka through turbulent waters, trimmed corporate fat to the bone, intensified the group’s focus on their core businesses and, in May 2012, was awarded the first Mecca Award for Excellence in recognition of his efforts. “It took almost three years, but it was a great challenge to prove to myself and, ultimately, my father, that I could manage the group. I am proud to say that the group now can stand on its own without having the founders involved and can continue for years to come with what we’ve achieved and who we have on board.
