Innovation has been the driving force behind WARBA's success: Dr. Al Jumah has led a long campaign to edu- cate his public to make them aware of the insurance needs they will face in a changing world. With no compulsory insurance requirement in Kuwait other than third party motor vehicle coverage he has found this to be an uphill battle at times and has responded with new, wider cove- rage, products that answer specific local needs. The mar- ket is also getting crowded: 12 new companies have come onto the insurance scene in Kuwait alone over the last 5 years intensifying competition. Yet throughout changes in the market and increasing competition, WARBA has maintained its leadership position.
