Salman Al Jishi is a well know personality in the political and business community of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Although he hails from Al Qatif, his ancestral roots are across the border in Bahrain, where his grandfather was a successful businessman dealing in the world famous natural pearls found there. But the advent of Japanese cultured pearls adversely affected their family business, necessitating a shift in domicile.
