Abdulaziz Al Hoshan started out as a high school graduate, working for the Saudi telephone company back in 1982. He worked at STC (Saudi Telecom Company) while he went to University, obtaining his degree in Business Administration 10 years later. While he was in school , heal so studied the Saudi telephone market and was convinced that one day, if it opened up to private companies, it would be a tremendous opportunity. “I spent 15 years with STC and when I left I was supervisor of the national network control centre.”Most of his experience was in network switching so, when he was given the responsibility to deal with international operators, it was logical for him to combine his expertise of telephone networking with innovations brought in from outside. Three years later he decided to take the leap and leave STC to set up on his own.
