“I see the priorities in Saudi Arabia as being those of renovation: breathing fresh air into the media through introducing new names in the newspapers; to give a chance to a new generation that needs to show their worth. To give female journalists a real chance to start in the media and be treated as equals by their peers and their audience.”These reforms will only come if increased emphasis is placed on a cooperative effort between the government and the private media sector to train journalists in new and advanced technologies, introduce fresh ideas and approaches to age old social and religious issues, and change the government’s perception of the press to that of a communications partner to help them talk to the rest of the world.
