The newly formed Kuwait Portland Cement company brought something new and simple to the construction supply business: bulk handling. Prior to Mr. Al Ghanim's innovative approach, cement bags were unloaded by hand. It would take an average of 300 men 20 days to offload a single ship, shifting about 1000 tons a day. With their new methods, KPCC could offload the same quantity in 4 days, using just one engineer, and get it to the customer faster and cheaper.
