I am the second generation and have been involved in the family business since I was 17, while I was a student. My father is my greatest teacher and I have learned as much from him as I did from Stanford. The multinational exposure was very good for me. I learned very early on not to micro-manage: there is a big difference between managers and leaders. I do the strategic planning for the group; I start the new businesses, watch them grow, input ideas and then mana- gers in. If you try to manage everything you cannot do justice to the group. I don’t manage. I lead.
